Hum today announced the extension of its partnership with BMJ Group as part of a new two year agreement. Following on from a successful year-long pilot, the company has now fully adopted Hum’s Alchemist Engage to strengthen its understanding and engagement with its global audience of healthcare professionals and researchers.

BMJ Group publishes more than 70 journals, including The BMJ, one of the world’s oldest and most respected general medical journals. Over the past year, the company has been using Alchemist Engage to better understand how readers interact with its content across specialities, topics, and research interests.

These insights allow BMJ Group to surface more relevant research, clinical insights, and educational content to readers across its portfolio. By combining real-time audience signals with a deep understanding of the topics and context within its content, Alchemist Engage helps connect clinicians and researchers with the knowledge most relevant to their work.

The platform also enables the company to deliver more tailored engagement across the research lifecycle, from highlighting relevant calls for papers to improving recommendations for authors, reviewers, and clinicians who rely on BMJ Group’s solutions.

“We are always looking for ways to help our global community of healthcare professionals discover knowledge that can improve patient care,” said Moira McClatchey, Marketing Director at BMJ Group. “By deepening our understanding of how readers engage with our content, we’re able to connect people with the research and resources that matter most to their work.”

“BMJ Group is one of the most trusted and influential voices in medical publishing, and we are honoured to work with the outstanding team there.” said Richard Bennett, Chief Growth Officer at Hum. “As AI use grows, it's essential for publishers to be able to provide a personalised experience within their content sites, Alchemist Engage provides the data to do that. We are excited to continue our work with BMJ Group to develop even better ways to engage with their audience.”
